Pedal across diverse landscapes
Through fields or forests, at the foot of volcanoes or at the water's edge: there are plenty of paths for cyclists and mountain bikers to experience and explore. Family outings, expert expeditions or rides to forget about it all.
Walking in the area
Published by Clermont Auvergne Métropole, the map "La métro en balade" features nearly 300 km of mountain biking paths, both circle trails and point-to-point routes. From the city centre, ride to the Puy de Dôme via the Roman road or the paths along the ridges, then take the Pertuisane Roche Trail.

ExploreThe GTMC Massif Central Trail
The GTMC Massif Central Trail is a mountain biking route created in 1995. 700 km of marked trails link Clermont to Sète, with thousands of mountain bikers from across Europe coming to ride the renowned route.
In 2018, more than 20 years later, the legend is reborn! Intensive work along the trail extended the original route by several hundred kilometres, creating new playgrounds for cycling experts while opening the trail to bike-trip newcomers. The moderately difficult route is fully accessible to e-bikes.
The new GTMC links Avallon in the Morvan Mountains to Cap d'Agde on the Mediterranean Sea, for a total of 1,360 km through 10 departments and 3 regions, including the area around Clermont.
