Church of Our Lady of Prosperity

Built of Volvic stone in the Southern Gothic style, it has a single nave with six bays and rib vaulting. Three-sided vaulted apse.

This building is a fine example of the Southern Gothic style in the heart of the conservation area.

Fifteen lower chapels are set between the buttresses. The furnishings and woodwork in these chapels come from various Clermont convents and were recovered after the French Revolution. The church is entered through a porch surmounted by a remarkable flamboyant rose window, and framed by two massive towers. The one on the right was decapitated during the French Revolution. It is topped by a small turret known as the "olive tree". At the foot of this tower, the flamboyantly Gothic Sainte-Catherine chapel houses a Romanesque Madonna from the Saint-Robert church.

The gargoyles, including the seated greyhound, seem to watch over this protected area.
