Clermont’s museum collections
Roger Quilliot Art Museum
The museum is housed a former Ursuline convent that borders the ramparts of the southern wall in the historical district of Montferrand. In the 1990s, architects Adrian Fainsilber and Claude Gaillard carried out an architectural transformation and museum redesign drawing on natural light, transcending this classical 17th century building. The central atrium, designed by Peter Rice, is covered by a large glass roof in the form of an umbrella blown inside out by the wind. This Irish engineer also participated in the construction of the shells of the Sydney Opera House and managed the building of the Georges-Pompidou Centre.

Bargoin Museum
Housed in a neoclassical building inaugurated in 1903 in the heart of the city, the Bargoin Museum boasts rich and original collections.
